Skip the straw!

We have been mindlessly using copious amounts of plastic straws and every single one of them are rotting in landfills. The environmental impact of plastic straws is huge.

Plastic pollution is marine life kills marine life by strangulation or choking, Another reason why plastic is dangerous is that it releases toxic chemicals like bisphenol-A(BPA) when it breaks down. BPA, mimics estrogen and messes with our hormones and can also be carcinogenic.
Although we still aren’t sure about the magnitude in which plastics are toxic when we consume them,but micro-plastics inevitably get into to our food through the fish in our plates and plastic water bottles and lunch boxes.

Ban on Plastic Straws is just a gateway to a conversation about not using other kinds of single use plastics. However, straws are an example of how pervasive this problem is.

Better still, skip the straw if you can do without one. Manufacturing straws, even biodegradable ones for that matter, uses precious resources and energy.
